Exploitation Conditions

Exploitation requires a victim who is currently authenticated to a HospitalManagement instance to be tricked into loading attacker-controlled web content (UI:P/passive interaction) while their session is active - the app must lack anti-CSRF tokens on the targeted state-changing endpoint (the underlying weakness). Limiting factors: it only works against logged-in users, achieves only limited integrity impact (no data theft or service disruption), depends on social engineering to deliver the forged request, and there is no confirmed fixed version because the rolling-release project maintainer has not responded.

Impact

This is a genuinely low-priority issue whose real-world risk sits well below what a raw 5.3 might suggest. The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:P/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N) describes a network-reachable CSRF requiring passive user interaction (a logged-in victim must visit an attacker-controlled page), with only limited integrity impact and no confidentiality or availability impact - the classic profile of a CSRF flaw. The E:P (Proof-of-Concept) exploit maturity aligns with the intelligence signal that a public PoC exists (VulDB-linked GitHub issue #6). No EPSS score is provided and the CVE is NOT in CISA KEV, so there is no evidence of active exploitation - status is best characterized as: publicly available exploit code exists, but no public exploitation in the wild. Signals are internally consistent (network CSRF + PoC + low integrity impact); the main tension is between a network attack vector and the practical requirement of a specific authenticated victim being socially engineered, which sharply limits scalability. The affected product is an obscure individual-developer GitHub project (gedelumbung/HospitalManagement) on a rolling-release model with no version pinning, and the maintainer has not responded to the report - so no fix is confirmed available.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker crafts a malicious web page or email containing a hidden auto-submitting form targeting a state-changing endpoint of the HospitalManagement app. When an already-authenticated user (e.g., an admin or staff member) is lured into visiting it, the browser silently submits the forged request using the victim's session, performing an unwanted action such as creating or modifying a record. A public proof-of-concept for this CSRF is available via the referenced GitHub issue.

AnalysisAIv1 – Sep 18, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in HospitalManagement allows remote attackers to trick an authenticated user's browser into submitting forged state-changing requests against the application. All versions are affected because the project follows a rolling-release model, and the maintainer has not released a fix after being notified via an early issue report. Publicly available exploit code exists, though there is no confirmed CISA KEV active exploitation; our independent assessment rates this low priority because it requires the victim to be logged in, depends on social engineering to deliver the malicious content, and causes only limited integrity impact (no data theft or service disruption).

RemediationAI

No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis; the maintainer has not responded to the early issue report. Until a fix is released, deployers should add anti-CSRF tokens to state-changing endpoints or enforce SameSite=Lax/Strict attributes on session cookies - side effect: these changes may break legitimate cross-site workflows. As a compensating control, restrict network access to trusted users, require re-authentication for sensitive actions (e.g., administrative changes), and monitor for anomalous POST requests. Because the project is open source, self-patching by incorporating standard CSRF protection is feasible. Track updates via the VulDB entry https://vuldb.com/vuln/407444 and the GitHub issue https://github.com/gedelumbung/HospitalManagement/issues/6.

Technical ContextAI · show details

HospitalManagement is an open-source web application maintained at GitHub (gedelumbung/HospitalManagement) and distributed via a rolling release model, so no fixed version numbers are available. The root cause is CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery): state-changing endpoints lack anti-CSRF tokens or equivalent origin verification, allowing a malicious page to cause a victim's browser to send authenticated requests. The CPE cpe:2.3:a:gedelumbung:hospitalmanagement:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* confirms the wildcard version scope. Our independent CVSS assessment (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N) indicates network reachability, low attack complexity, no attacker privileges required, but user interaction is necessary and only low integrity impact results. The public exploit referenced in the GitHub issue demonstrates the missing CSRF protection, but it does not imply active exploitation in the wild.
