GoAdmin through 1.2.26 fails to properly anchor the logout pattern when checking permissions, allowing authenticated users to bypass permission checks by appending a query parameter. Attackers can append a query string containing the admin prefix followed by /logout to reach administrative endpoints and perform unauthorized actions including reading sensitive data and modifying application state.
AnalysisAI
Authorization bypass in GoAdmin through 1.2.26 allows any authenticated user with a valid session (CVSS PR:L - an account on the target instance is required) to reach administrative endpoints by appending a crafted query string containing the configured admin prefix followed by /logout to a request URL; the permission-checking middleware mistakes the request for the exempt logout route and skips authorization entirely. Successful exploitation permits unauthorized reads of sensitive data and modification of application state (C:H/I:H), with no user interaction needed in a default deployment. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires a valid authenticated GoAdmin session at low privilege (PR:L) - the attacker must already have an account on the target instance. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine, actionable authorization flaw (CWE-863) rather than an inflated high-CVSS issue. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch version is identified in the available data, so remediation currently depends on either upgrading to a release newer than 1.2.26 once the maintainers publish a fix (track https://github.com/GoAdminGroup/go-admin/issues/690 and the project repository https://github.com/GoAdminGroup/go-admin, and verify the middleware anchors its logout/prefix match before deploying) or applying compensating controls. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory all GoAdmin instances running version 1.2.26 or earlier and restrict administrative interfaces to trusted networks, VPN, or allowlisted IPs; enforce least privilege on all accounts and review logs for non-admin sessions reaching admin endpoints via query strings containing the configured admin prefix and '/logout'. …
