Web-reachable (AV:N) but requires an authenticated user with Item/Configure (PR:L); leaking and using an out-of-scope GitLab token yields limited read and write on GitLab (C:L/I:L), no availability impact.

DescriptionCVE.org

Jenkins GitLab Plugin 1.2149.vcfc32c82b_f7f and earlier caches the GitLab API client built for alternative GitLab API token credentials under a cache key derived from the credentials ID alone, omitting the folder in which the credentials are resolved, allowing attackers with Item/Configure permission to access GitLab API token credentials they are not entitled to use.

AnalysisAI

Credential isolation bypass in Jenkins GitLab Plugin 1.2149.vcfc32c82b_f7f and earlier allows an authenticated user who holds Item/Configure permission on a folder to reach 'alternative GitLab API token credentials' that are scoped to a different folder and that they are not entitled to use, because the plugin caches the GitLab API client under a cache key derived solely from the credentials ID and never incorporates the folder in which the credentials were resolved. Rated CVSS 3.1 5.4 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N) under CWE-522 (insufficiently protected credentials), the issue is a moderate authorization/credential-isolation flaw rather than an unauthenticated remote compromise, and it only exists on multi-tenant Jenkins controllers that actually rely on folder-scoped credentials - single-tenant installations and controllers where all credentials are global/system-scoped see no practical impact. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Requires a multi-tenant Jenkins controller that uses folder-scoped credentials, specifically 'alternative GitLab API token credentials' resolved within a folder, so that credential isolation between folders is a security boundary that matters. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment This is a moderate-severity, authorization/credential-isolation flaw, not a high-priority emergency. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Patch available per vendor advisory: upgrade the Jenkins GitLab Plugin to the fixed release identified in the Jenkins security advisory of 2026-09-16 (SECURITY-3851, https://www.jenkins.io/security/advisory/2026-09-16/#SECURITY-3851); the exact fixed version number is not confirmed in the supplied data, so verify the current plugin version in Manage Plugins and consult the advisory before pinning. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
