1DescriptionCVE.org
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.11.2 Langflow could allow an authenticated attacker to write arbitrary files to the server due to improper input validation in the SaveToFileComponent. The application constructs local file paths using attacker‑controlled input without sufficient sanitization when handling requests to the /api/v1/run/{flow_id} endpoint. An attacker with low‑privileged authenticated access (such as a valid API key or user session) can supply crafted path values, including absolute paths or path traversal sequences, allowing arbitrary file writes to locations writable by the Langflow process. Successful exploitation may lead to unauthorized file creation or modification, potentially resulting in further compromise depending on the deployment environment.
AnalysisAI
Arbitrary file write in IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0-1.11.2 allows low-privileged authenticated attackers to plant files at any server-writable path via the SaveToFileComponent's unsanitized path handling on the /api/v1/run/{flow_id} endpoint. The root cause is CWE-22 path traversal: user-supplied path values-including absolute paths and traversal sequences such as ../../-are incorporated into local filesystem operations without sufficient sanitization. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid Langflow user account or API key with at least low-privileged authenticated access-unauthenticated exploitation is not possible per PR:L in the CVSS vector. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 3.1 vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N accurately captures the principal risk: low attack complexity, network-accessible, but requiring authenticated low-privileged access (PR:L). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | The primary remediation is to apply the vendor-released patch per IBM Security Bulletin https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7285643, which should specify the fixed version; organizations should upgrade to the minimum non-vulnerable release cited in that advisory. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
