Network-reachable with only a low-privilege authenticated account (PR:L), no user interaction, and code execution escapes the flow sandbox to the OS process (S:C) with full C/I/A loss.

CRITICAL 9.9

DescriptionNVD

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.11.1 allows an authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary operating system commands in the server process by saving a flow with a crafted type field value and triggering a build of a wrapper flow that references it. This allowed privilege escalation from "authenticated flow user" to arbitrary OS-level command execution under the server process identity, bypassing the LANGFLOW_ALLOW_CUSTOM_COMPONENTS=false policy control.

AnalysisAI

Authenticated command injection in IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.11.1 lets any logged-in flow user escalate to arbitrary OS command execution under the server process identity. By saving a flow containing a crafted 'type' field and triggering a build of a wrapper flow that references it, the attacker coerces the backend into evaluating attacker-controlled code, defeating the LANGFLOW_ALLOW_CUSTOM_COMPONENTS=false guardrail intended to block custom code execution. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Requires a valid authenticated Langflow account with permission to create/save flows and trigger a build (CVSS PR:L confirms low-privilege authentication is needed, not anonymous access). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 3.1 base score is 9.9 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H): network-reachable, low complexity, only low privileges required, no user interaction, scope change, and full confidentiality/integrity/availability loss - consistent with unauthenticated-adjacent RCE once any account exists. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade to the fixed release published by IBM; a patch is available per the vendor advisory at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7284733, though the exact fixed version number is not stated in the provided data and should be taken from that advisory (do not rely on an assumed version). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, inventory all Langflow OSS deployments, identify affected versions (1.0.0-1.11.1), and restrict flow editor access to a minimal trusted user set as an interim control. …
