PR:L because a valid registered key is required; AC:H because attacker must hold that key and target app must use shared JWK set with kid-based authz.

2DescriptionCVE.org
A flaw was found in the jwcrypto library, which is used for implementing Javascript Object Signing and Encryption (JOSE) standards. The issue occurs when the library verifies a General JSON Serialization JWS using a set of keys. Due to a coding error, the library fails to correctly identify the specific key ID (kid) and may instead accept a signature made by any valid key in the set. This can allow an attacker with a valid key to bypass authorization checks in applications that rely on the key ID to identify specific tenants or users.
AnalysisAI
Key-ID (kid) bypass in the jwcrypto Python JOSE library allows an attacker who holds any valid key within a JWK set to forge a General JSON Serialization JWS that satisfies verification for a different kid, effectively impersonating another tenant, user, or service. Affected deployments include Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2, RHEL 7-10, Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI), and Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16.2, wherever jwcrypto performs JWS signature verification with kid-based authorization. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires the attacker to hold a valid cryptographic key that is registered within the same JWK set used by the target application - this is the primary limiting prerequisite (AC:H, PR:L). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The provided CVSS vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N is well-calibrated. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Apply the Red Hat-issued package update for jwcrypto via standard subscription channels (yum/dnf errata). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
