1DescriptionCVE.org
filebrowser from version 2.24.0 contains a race condition in the TUS upload handler that allows authenticated users to write past the declared Upload-Length by sending concurrent PATCH requests. Attackers can send multiple simultaneous PATCH requests at the same offset to bypass length validation, resulting in files that exceed their declared size and triggering completion hooks for oversized uploads.
AnalysisAI
Race condition in filebrowser's TUS resumable upload handler allows authenticated low-privileged users to bypass declared Upload-Length limits by issuing concurrent PATCH requests to the same offset. Affected versions start at 2.24.0. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid authenticated session with at least low-privileged upload access to a filebrowser instance running version 2.24.0 or later. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 2.3 (Low) reflects a realistic but constrained threat: attack complexity is High (AC:H) due to race condition timing requirements, AT:P indicates a prerequisite attack condition, and PR:L confirms that a valid authenticated session is mandatory. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Consult the upstream GitHub Security Advisory at https://github.com/filebrowser/filebrowser/security/advisories/GHSA-4r8p-gqj2-mwgm for the specific patched release version - no exact fix version was independently confirmed in the provided data, so upgrading to the latest stable filebrowser release is the recommended primary action. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
