Local hardware trigger (AV:L), specific init condition required (AC:H), module loading implies at least user presence (PR:L), OOB read only so no integrity impact, DoS is the realistic primary outcome.
Primary rating from Vendor (Linux).

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: amd: acp-sdw-legacy: Bound DAI link iteration
create_sdw_dailinks() walks soc_dais until it finds an entry with initialised cleared, but soc_dais is allocated with exactly num_ends entries. If all entries are initialised, the loop reads past the end of the array.
This was reported by KASAN:
BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in mc_probe+0x26b3/0x2774 [snd_acp_sdw_legacy_mach] Read of size 1
Pass the allocated entry count to create_sdw_dailinks() and stop before reading past the array.
AnalysisAI
Out-of-bounds slab read in the Linux kernel's ASoC AMD ACP SoundWire legacy machine driver allows a local attacker - or a hardware-triggered probe path - to read beyond an allocated array in create_sdw_dailinks(), potentially causing kernel memory disclosure or denial of service. The vulnerability is introduced when all DAI link entries are initialized, causing the boundary-unchecked loop to walk past the end of the soc_dais allocation. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires: (1) a Linux system with AMD ACP SoundWire-capable hardware where the snd_acp_sdw_legacy_mach module is loaded; (2) a specific runtime condition where all num_ends entries in the soc_dais array have the initialised flag set, causing the unbounded loop in create_sdw_dailinks() to walk past the allocation. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | Despite the NVD-assigned CVSS of 8.4 (C:H/I:H/A:H), real-world risk is considerably lower. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | On a system running an unpatched Linux kernel with AMD SoundWire-capable audio hardware, the snd_acp_sdw_legacy_mach module loads during boot. If create_sdw_dailinks() encounters a soc_dais array where every entry has the initialised flag set, the loop reads one byte past the end of the heap allocation. … |
| Remediation | Update to Linux kernel 6.18.40 or later (stable 6.x series), 7.1.5 or later (stable 7.x series), or 7.2-rc1 or later (mainline), which contain the upstream fix bounding create_sdw_dailinks() iteration to the allocated entry count. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
