Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires network access to a Helidon 4.5.0 instance running the Imperative Web Server component over HTTP/2 - no authentication, session token, or user interaction is needed. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H) scores 8.2 and accurately reflects the threat model: any unauthenticated attacker with HTTP/2 network access can trivially trigger a crash with no barriers. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An external attacker sends a specially crafted HTTP/2 request (or sequence of frames) to a publicly accessible Helidon 4.5.0 service running the Imperative Web Server. The malformed HTTP/2 interaction triggers a processing fault that causes the server to hang indefinitely or crash, taking the application offline. …
Remediation Apply the patch or upgrade released by Oracle as part of the August 2026 Critical Security Patch Update, referenced at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cspuaug2026.html - the exact patched version number is not independently confirmed in the available data and should be verified directly against the Oracle advisory. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, conduct a complete inventory of all systems running Oracle Helidon 4.5.0 using asset discovery tools and configuration management database queries; flag any internet-exposed instances for immediate network restriction. …
