SiYuan versions before v3.7.4 contain an information disclosure vulnerability in the resolveAssetPath endpoint that returns absolute filesystem paths unmodified to CheckAuth-only requests. Attackers can harvest relative asset paths from published documents and submit them to resolveAssetPath to obtain the server's absolute workspace path, disclosing the operating-system username and installation layout.
AnalysisAI
Information disclosure in SiYuan before v3.7.4 allows unauthenticated remote attackers to retrieve the server's absolute filesystem workspace path, operating-system username, and installation layout by querying the resolveAssetPath endpoint with relative asset paths harvested from published documents. The endpoint enforces only a lightweight CheckAuth gate rather than full authentication, satisfying CWE-639's authorization bypass pattern, and returns raw absolute paths to any network-reachable caller. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires that the SiYuan instance is reachable over a network - not bound exclusively to localhost or isolated behind a VPN or firewall. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 6.9 with vector AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N correctly reflects a low-complexity, unauthenticated, network-accessible vulnerability, while the impact metrics VC:L/VI:N/VA:N bound the consequence to partial confidentiality loss with no integrity or availability impact. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An attacker locates a network-accessible SiYuan instance with at least one publicly published document, then parses the document markup to collect relative asset path references. The attacker submits those paths to the resolveAssetPath endpoint without valid credentials, and the server returns absolute filesystem paths that reveal the OS username and workspace directory structure. … |
| Remediation | The primary remediation is to upgrade SiYuan to version 3.7.4 or later; the vendor-released patch is documented in the GitHub security advisory at https://github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/security/advisories/GHSA-jv8v-xq2h-657v. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
