DescriptionCVE.org

A vulnerability has been identified in SIMOVE Fleetmanager V3.1 (All versions < V3.1.13), SIMOVE Fleetmanager V3.2 (All versions < V3.2.4), SIMOVE Fleetmanager V3.3 (All versions < V3.3.2), SIMOVE Fleetmanager V4.0 (All versions < V4.0.1), SIPLANT V1.7 (All versions), SIPLANT V2.2 (All versions), SIPLANT V3.0 (All versions), SIPLANT V3.1 (All versions < V3.1.4). Affected devices do not properly validate and neutralize directory traversal sequences in the file-serving endpoint of the embedded HTTP server. This could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to read arbitrary files from the underlying operating system without any credentials, potentially exposing sensitive data such as credential stores, private keys, and configuration secrets.

AnalysisAI

Arbitrary file read in Siemens SIMOVE Fleetmanager (V3.1 before V3.1.13, V3.2 before V3.2.4, V3.3 before V3.3.2, V4.0 before V4.0.1) and SIPLANT (V1.7, V2.2, V3.0 all versions; V3.1 before V3.1.4) allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to traverse directories through the embedded HTTP server's file-serving endpoint and retrieve any file from the host operating system. Because no credentials are required and the payload targets the file path directly, an attacker can harvest credential stores, private keys, and configuration secrets that enable follow-on compromise. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires only network reachability to the affected product's embedded HTTP server file-serving endpoint; per the CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N) it is remote, unauthenticated, requires no user interaction, and works against default configurations of vulnerable SIMOVE Fleetmanager and SIPLANT versions. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The Siemens-issued CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N, VC:H/VI:N/VA:N, SC:H) describes a network-reachable, low-complexity, unauthenticated attack with high confidentiality impact on both the vulnerable and a subsequent system, and no integrity or availability impact - internally consistent with an unauthenticated arbitrary-file-read. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Apply the Siemens-released fixed builds: upgrade SIMOVE Fleetmanager to V3.1.13, V3.2.4, V3.3.2, or V4.0.1 as appropriate for your branch, and SIPLANT V3.1 to V3.1.4; these are the vendor-released patches cited in advisory SSA-517424 (https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/html/ssa-517424.html). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, inventory systems running SIMOVE Fleetmanager V3.1-V4.0 and SIPLANT V1.7, V2.2, V3.0, or V3.1 and restrict HTTP server access to trusted administrative networks. …
