In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/tcp-ao: Fix MAC comparison to be constant-time
To prevent timing attacks, MACs need to be compared in constant time. Use the appropriate helper function for this.
AnalysisAI
Timing attacks can compromise TCP Authentication Option (TCP-AO) message authentication codes in Linux kernel 6.7+ due to non-constant-time MAC comparison. Remote unauthenticated attackers on the network path can exploit timing differences during MAC validation to extract authentication secrets, defeating TCP-AO's connection authentication mechanism. …

RemediationAI
Within 24 hours: Identify all systems running Linux kernel 6.7+ with TCP-AO enabled (check kernel configuration and active connections via netstat/ss). Within 7 days: Apply vendor-released patches-kernel 6.12.78, 6.18.19, 6.19.9, or mainline 7.0 depending on current kernel branch. …
