Network-reachable via Grafana UI, low complexity injection; requires authenticated SQL query access (PR:L); impact is availability-only crash with no data exposure.
Primary rating from Vendor (grafana).

Lifecycle Timeline
2DescriptionCVE.org
An authenticated user with permission to query a SQL data source can bypass the fix for CVE-2026-33375 by injecting the timeGroup macro through a WHERE clause, which Grafana's regex-based macro parsing does not reject. Evaluating the injected macro causes uncontrolled memory consumption that can terminate the Grafana server process, resulting in a denial of service. The Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL data sources are affected.
AnalysisAI
Uncontrolled memory consumption in Grafana's SQL macro evaluator allows authenticated users with query permissions to crash the Grafana server process via a bypass of the prior CVE-2026-33375 fix. By injecting the timeGroup macro into a WHERE clause rather than the positions blocked by the original regex-based patch, attackers cause the macro evaluator to consume unbounded memory, terminating the server. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid Grafana account with at least low-privilege query access (PR:L) to a SQL data source of type Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL - this is standard permission for Grafana editors and viewers with data source access in most multi-user deployments. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 6.5 Medium score with vector AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H accurately reflects the threat profile: network-reachable, low-complexity, but requiring a valid authenticated session with SQL data source query permissions (PR:L). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade Grafana to the patched version identified in the vendor security advisory at https://grafana.com/security/security-advisories/cve-2026-19475; exact fix versions were not included in the available data and must be confirmed directly from that advisory. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
