Lifecycle Timeline
1DescriptionCVE.org
An issue was discovered in Mbed TLS before 2.28.2 and 3.x before 3.3.0. An adversary with access to precise enough information about memory accesses (typically, an untrusted operating system attacking a secure enclave) can recover an RSA private key after observing the victim performing a single private-key operation, if the window size (MBEDTLS_MPI_WINDOW_SIZE) used for the exponentiation is 3 or smaller.
AnalysisAI
An issue was discovered in Mbed TLS before 2.28.2 and 3.x before 3.3.0. Rated medium severity (CVSS 5.3), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required. No vendor patch available.
Technical ContextAI
This vulnerability is classified under CWE-203. Affected products include: Arm Mbed Tls, Trustedfirmware Mbed Tls, Fedoraproject Fedora. Version information: before 2.28.2.
RemediationAI
No vendor patch is available at time of analysis. Monitor vendor advisories for updates. Apply vendor patches when available. Implement network segmentation and monitoring as interim mitigations.
