DescriptionNVD
For Eclipse Jetty versions <= 9.4.40, <= 10.0.2, <= 11.0.2, it is possible for requests to the ConcatServlet with a doubly encoded path to access protected resources within the WEB-INF directory. For example a request to /concat?/%2557EB-INF/web.xml can retrieve the web.xml file. This can reveal sensitive information regarding the implementation of a web application.
AnalysisAI
For Eclipse Jetty versions <= 9.4.40, <= 10.0.2, <= 11.0.2, it is possible for requests to the ConcatServlet with a doubly encoded path to access protected resources within the WEB-INF directory. Rated medium severity (CVSS 5.3), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. This Exposure of Sensitive Information vulnerability could allow attackers to access sensitive data that should not be disclosed.
Technical ContextAI
This vulnerability is classified as Exposure of Sensitive Information (CWE-200), which allows attackers to access sensitive data that should not be disclosed. Affected products include: Eclipse Jetty, Debian Debian Linux, Oracle Communications Cloud Native Core Policy, Oracle Rest Data Services, Netapp Active Iq Unified Manager.
RemediationAI
A vendor patch is available. Apply the latest security update as soon as possible. Minimize information in error messages, implement proper access controls, encrypt sensitive data at rest and in transit.
