DeDeCMS SQL Injection and File Upload Flaws
2026-08-20
SQL injection in DeDeCMS 53_1_UTF8 exposes the `/plus/advancedsearch.php` endpoint to remote unauthenticated database manipulation via an unsanitized `sql` argument. The flaw (CWE-89) allows attackers to craft malicious SQL statements that interact directly with the backend database, yielding limited but real confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. A public exploit has been disclosed (CVSS 4.0 E:P), lowering the skill barrier for exploitation; no CISA KEV listing has been identified at time of analysis.
Unrestricted file upload in DeDeCMS 3 exposes the `/include/dialog/select_media_post.php` endpoint to abuse via the `uploadfile` parameter, enabling low-privileged authenticated users to upload arbitrary file types - including executable PHP scripts - to the server. Successful exploitation can culminate in remote code execution via a server-side webshell if the upload directory is web-accessible and script execution is permitted. No public KEV listing exists, but a proof-of-concept exploit is publicly available, materially lowering the skill threshold for exploitation.
