Network-delivered trap with low complexity, but attacker must be able to send accepted SNMP traps (PR:L); only low integrity impact from record injection, no C or A impact.
Primary rating from Vendor (Zabbix).

2DescriptionCVE.org
The Perl SNMP trap receiver script shipped with Zabbix does not properly neutralize the ZBXTRAP record delimiter in trap content. This means someone able to send SNMP traps can inject a record targeting another host, resulting in a loss of integrity.
AnalysisAI
SNMP trap injection against Zabbix's bundled Perl trap receiver script allows a party that can deliver traps accepted by that receiver to forge a record against a different host, corrupting the integrity of collected monitoring data with no confidentiality or availability impact. The root cause is a failure to neutralize the ZBXTRAP record delimiter in CWE-143 terms, and only deployments that ingest traps through the shipped Perl script (typically wired into snmptrapd) are exposed. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires that the Zabbix deployment uses the bundled Perl SNMP trap receiver script (integrated with snmptrapd) to ingest SNMP traps, and that the attacker is able to deliver SNMP traps accepted by that receiver (reflected by PR:L - this is not anonymous public access). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a moderate-severity, low-priority issue rather than an urgent threat. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch or exact fixed version is identified in the available data; the authoritative tracking point is the upstream Zabbix issue ZBX-28197 at https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-28197, which should be monitored and the corrected Zabbix release applied once it is published rather than assuming any specific version number. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
