| Exploitation Conditions | No special conditions beyond network reachability - remote unauthenticated exploitation against YesWiki instances running a version before 4.6.7 that expose the Bazar abonnements sync action. The concrete prerequisite is that the attacker can reach the sync action endpoint and supply an unvalidated actor URL; exploitation value is highest where the server sits adjacent to internal services or a cloud metadata endpoint (e.g. 169.254.169.254). Limiting factors: the attacker must be able to reach the Bazar subscription/sync feature, the SSRF yields GET requests only, and useful impact depends on the presence of reachable internal or metadata targets from the server's network position. |
| Impact | This is a genuine priority, not merely a high-CVSS paper risk. The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N) describes a network-reachable flaw requiring no authentication, no user interaction, and low complexity, which aligns with the description of an unauthenticated SSRF in the Bazar abonnements sync action. The primary impact is confidentiality (VC:H) because fetched internal/cloud-metadata responses are stored as readable Bazar entries, giving a durable exfiltration primitive rather than a blind request; VI:L/VA:L reflect the limited integrity/availability effect of writing those stored entries. No EPSS score was provided and the issue is not listed in CISA KEV, so there is no signal of widespread or automated exploitation yet. No SSVC decision data was supplied. The main mitigating factor against raw severity is deployment footprint: YesWiki is a niche product, so even though the technical exploitability is high, the real-world blast radius is narrow. Note the input CVSS is 4.0-only; no CVSS 3.1 vector or EPSS/POC signal was provided, so exploitation likelihood is assessed from the vector and description alone. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An unauthenticated attacker sends a request to the Bazar abonnements sync action supplying a crafted actor URL pointing at an internal host or a cloud metadata endpoint (e.g. 169.254.169.254). The server performs the GET on the attacker's behalf and stores the fetched response as a readable Bazar entry, letting the attacker chain attacker-controlled outbox first/next links and then read back exfiltrated internal data. No public exploit identified at time of analysis. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 02, 2026
Server-side request forgery in YesWiki before 4.6.7 allows unauthenticated remote attackers to force the server to issue arbitrary GET requests by supplying an unvalidated actor URL to the Bazar abonnements sync action, with fetched responses stored back as readable Bazar entries. The CVE carries a CVSS 4.0 base score of 8.8 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N, high confidentiality impact, low integrity and availability impact), matching our independent assessment of CVSS 3.1 AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L - no special privileges or user interaction are required, only network reachability to an instance running a vulnerable version that exposes the sync action. Impact is highest where the YesWiki host sits adjacent to internal services or a cloud metadata endpoint, and no public exploit code has been identified at time of analysis; the issue is not listed as confirmed actively exploited (CISA KEV).
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: upgrade to YesWiki 4.6.7 (or later per the vendor's release line) as documented in the advisory https://github.com/YesWiki/yeswiki/security/advisories/GHSA-wcjp-v62j-p5xm; this is the primary fix and closes the unvalidated actor URL path in the Bazar abonnements sync action. If the upgrade cannot be applied immediately, the highest-value compensating control is to remove reachability to the vulnerable action - disable the Bazar subscriptions/sync feature or block the abonnements sync endpoint at the web server or reverse proxy for untrusted users - at the cost of breaking legitimate federation/subscription synchronization (this is the trade-off to weigh against the exposure window). Requiring authentication or restricting the action to trusted networks/IPs also reduces exposure but will break anonymous or cross-instance syncs. In parallel, apply outbound egress filtering so the YesWiki host cannot reach RFC1918 ranges, loopback, link-local addresses, or the cloud metadata service at 169.254.169.254, and prefer IMDSv2 with hop-limit controls on AWS-style instances; this can break other outbound integrations the wiki relies on and must be tested. Run YesWiki with least-privilege outbound network access and monitor stored Bazar entries for unexpectedly fetched internal content as a detection signal. No public exploit code has been identified at time of analysis, and the issue is not currently listed on CISA KEV, but the unauthenticated nature of the flaw and its 8.8 severity warrant prompt patching.

Technical ContextAI · show details
YesWiki is a PHP-based wiki/CMS platform, and 'Bazar' is its built-in extension for creating and managing structured custom entries and forms. The 'abonnements' (subscriptions) sync action is a federation-style feature that fetches a remote actor URL and follows outbox first/next links in the returned document, which is the classic CWE-918 server-side request forgery root cause: attacker-controlled input is passed to an outbound HTTP client without validation or an allowlist. Because the attacker controls the actor and can chain the outbox first/next links in their own hosted responses, they can redirect the server's follow-up GETs at will. The responses retrieved are persisted as Bazar entries, turning a blind SSRF into a readable one - data returned by internal or metadata endpoints becomes retrievable through the wiki UI. The requests are GET-only, so the primitive is information disclosure rather than request forgery with side effects, which is consistent with the assessed high confidentiality, low integrity and low availability ratings. Affected products are tracked under CPE cpe:2.3:a:yeswiki:yeswiki:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* across all 4.x builds prior to 4.6.7.

2DescriptionCVE.org
YesWiki before 4.6.7 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to make server-side GET requests by supplying an unvalidated actor URL to the Bazar abonnements sync action. Attackers can target internal hosts or cloud metadata endpoints and chain attacker-controlled outbox first/next links, with fetched responses stored as readable Bazar entries.

Executive ViewAI
YesWiki deployments prior to 4.6.7 are affected by a high-severity server-side request forgery flaw that can be triggered by an unauthenticated remote actor. Because the application can be induced to fetch internal resources and store responses in user-readable entries, organizations hosting YesWiki near sensitive internal services or cloud metadata endpoints face potential exposure of confidential data. Leadership should prioritize remediation given the lack of authentication, network reachability, and the high confidentiality impact.
