A flaw was found in the Kerberos federation provider of Keycloak, an open-source identity and access management solution. When Kerberos password authentication is used without SPNEGO, the system fails to verify the identity of the Key Distribution Center (KDC) by requesting a server ticket. This allows an attacker on the same network to spoof the KDC and bypass the authentication process, potentially gaining unauthorized access to user accounts.
AnalysisAI
Authentication bypass in the Keycloak (Red Hat Build of Keycloak) Kerberos federation provider lets an attacker on the same or adjacent network impersonate the Key Distribution Center and bypass Kerberos password authentication, potentially gaining unauthorized access to user accounts. The flaw only manifests in the specific, non-default configuration where Kerberos PASSWORD authentication is used while SPNEGO is disabled, because that mode never requests a server ticket to verify the KDC's identity. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a Keycloak / Red Hat SSO deployment configured with the Kerberos federation provider using PASSWORD authentication AND with SPNEGO not in use - this specific non-default mode is what skips requesting a server ticket to verify the KDC. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a moderate-severity, condition-gated authentication weakness rather than a broadly exploitable priority. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch version is identified in the available data at time of analysis; track the Red Hat advisory at https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-95503 and Bugzilla 2537744 (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2537744) for errata covering Red Hat Build of Keycloak and Red Hat Single Sign-On 7, and apply the fixed build as soon as it is published. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
