2DescriptionNVD
A vulnerability in the endpoint posture status reporting functionality of the guest portal web application of Cisco ISE could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to submit forged posture status events into the endpoint posture pipeline.
This vulnerability is due to insufficient authentication on an internal interface that is exposed through the guest portal. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request to an affected system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to manipulate the posture status on the affected system.
AnalysisAI
Unauthenticated remote attackers who can reach the Cisco Identity Services Engine guest portal can submit forged endpoint posture status events into ISE's posture pipeline, allowing manipulation of the posture state recorded for endpoints. The issue is an authentication gap (CWE-306) on an internal posture-status reporting interface that the guest portal exposes; per the CVSS vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N) no credentials, privileges, or user interaction are required, and the assessed impact is integrity-only and low (C:N/I:L/A:N). …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires network reachability to the Cisco ISE guest portal web application, which exposes an internal posture-status reporting interface that performs insufficient authentication (CWE-306). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine but deliberately narrow-impact issue. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch (with an exact fixed version) is identified in the available input data, so the first action is to consult Cisco's advisory at https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-ise-multiauth-bypass-sgD2HbL4 and apply the fixed release Cisco lists for each ISE and ISE Passive Identity Connector train in use, then verify the deployed build against the advisory's software-check table. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
