1DescriptionCVE.org
A vulnerability has been found in DataEase up to 2.10.25/2.10.26. Affected by this issue is the function buildTooltip of the file core/core-frontend/src/views/chart/components/js/panel/charts/map/symbolic-map.ts of the component Symbolic Map. Such manipulation of the argument canvasViewInfo[*].customAttr.tooltip.backgroundColor leads to cross site scripting. The attack may be performed from remote. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
AnalysisAI
Stored cross-site scripting in DataEase up to version 2.10.26 allows an authenticated attacker to inject arbitrary JavaScript through the tooltip.backgroundColor parameter of the Symbolic Map chart component, executing in the browser of any user who views the affected visualization. The injection point is the buildTooltip function in symbolic-map.ts, where user-controlled chart styling attributes are rendered without sanitization. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires: (1) a valid DataEase account with permissions to create or edit Symbolic Map chart visualizations - PR:L in the CVSS vector confirms authentication is required; (2) the Symbolic Map chart component must be enabled and in use within a dashboard; (3) a victim user must view or interact with the affected map visualization (passive user interaction, UI:P in CVSS 4.0). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 5.1 (Medium) reflects this accurately: AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:P indicates network-reachable exploitation requiring low-privilege authentication and passive victim interaction. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch has been identified at time of analysis; the project maintainers had not responded to the disclosure issue (https://github.com/dataease/dataease/issues/18846) by the time of reporting. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
