2DescriptionCVE.org
MindsDB through 26.1.0 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the web crawler handler that allows unauthenticated attackers to fetch arbitrary URLs by supplying caller-controlled URLs to CrawlerTable.list. Attackers can bypass the allowlist control by exploiting the default empty configuration and access internal services and cloud metadata endpoints without authentication.
AnalysisAI
Unauthenticated server-side request forgery in MindsDB through 26.1.0 allows remote attackers to coerce the platform's web crawler handler into fetching arbitrary attacker-supplied URLs. The root cause is a default-empty allowlist in CrawlerTable.list (web_handler.py lines 50-65), meaning MindsDB ships with no URL restrictions enforced, enabling direct access to internal network services and cloud instance metadata endpoints (e.g., AWS IMDSv1 at 169.254.169.254). …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires network access to a MindsDB instance with the web crawler handler enabled (the default installation includes this handler). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H) and score of 8.7 accurately reflect the threat model: zero-barrier network exploitation with high confidentiality impact. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch version is independently confirmed at time of analysis - the issue is tracked in https://github.com/mindsdb/mindshub/issues/12480. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours: immediately restrict network access to all MindsDB instances to trusted internal subnets only via firewall rules; disable the CrawlerTable web_handler functionality if not actively used in production; conduct a complete inventory of MindsDB deployments across your environment. …
