Network-reachable anonymous SQLi with low complexity (PR:N/AC:L); scope change (S:C) reflects cross-notebook access beyond the query context; high confidentiality and integrity, no availability impact.

CRITICAL 9.9

DescriptionCVE.org

SiYuan versions <= v3.7.2 contain a SQL injection vulnerability in the backlink/mention search query (kernel/model/backlink.go), which concatenates stored block metadata (title, name, alias, anchor text) and the client-supplied keyword into a SQL MATCH/search statement while escaping only the double-quote character and not the single quote. A single quote in the client keyword (first-order, reachable by an anonymous or RoleReader user on the publish surface) or in stored document metadata (second-order) breaks out of the string literal. Because the query runs on the main read-write siyuan.db handle via a statement-stacking-capable driver, an attacker can execute arbitrary SQL, enabling cross-notebook read and write. Fixed in v3.7.4.

AnalysisAI

SQL injection in SiYuan's backlink/mention search (kernel/model/backlink.go) lets unauthenticated attackers execute arbitrary SQL against the self-hosted note-taking application through v3.7.2. Because the search routine escapes only double quotes and leaves single quotes intact, a crafted keyword or malicious stored block metadata breaks out of the SQL string literal on the primary read-write siyuan.db handle, enabling cross-notebook read and write. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The first-order path requires the target SiYuan instance to expose its publish/read surface such that an anonymous or RoleReader user can invoke the backlink/mention search - this is the concrete enabling condition. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The supplied CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:H/SI:H/SA:N, base 9.9) reflects a genuinely high-severity issue: network-reachable, low complexity, no privileges or user interaction, with high confidentiality and integrity impact on both the vulnerable and subsequent systems (cross-notebook). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An attacker with only anonymous or reader access to a published SiYuan instance issues a backlink/mention search containing a single quote to break out of the SQL string literal, then appends stacked SQL statements that run on the main read-write siyuan.db handle. With low attack complexity and no authentication or user interaction required, the attacker reads content from notebooks they should not see and writes or alters blocks across notebooks. …
Remediation Vendor-released patch: v3.7.4 - upgrade all SiYuan instances to v3.7.4 or later, which fixes the single-quote escaping in the backlink/mention search query; see the advisory at https://github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/security/advisories/GHSA-q2vg-7qgx-x5fc. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, identify all SiYuan instances in your environment and their version numbers, then restrict network access to the application if possible and enable detailed database query logging. …
