Arbitrary code execution in Adobe Bridge via a malicious file opened by a victim. An incorrect authorization flaw allows an attacker to bypass security constraints and run code with the current user's privileges. No active exploitation or public proof-of-concept has been reported, but the vulnerability carries a high CVSS score due to scope change and full system impact.

DescriptionCVE.org
Bridge is affected by an Incorrect Authorization vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. Scope is changed.
Executive ViewAI
Adobe Bridge users face a high-severity arbitrary code execution vulnerability (CVE-2026-48396) that can be triggered by simply opening a malicious file. While no active exploitation has been reported, the risk to creative and design teams is significant because the flaw bypasses security checks and gives attackers the same privileges as the logged‑in user. Leadership should immediately restrict untrusted file openings and prepare for a vendor patch.
Within 24 hours, instruct all Adobe Bridge users to avoid opening files from untrusted or unknown sources and consider temporarily disabling the product if its use is not critical. Over the next 7 days, implement application whitelisting or endpoint detection rules to block execution of suspicious scripts or processes initiated by Bridge. Within 30 days, monitor Adobe’s security advisories for a patch and test it in a sandboxed environment before broad deployment.
No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Mitigate by enforcing strict file handling policies, using least‑privilege user accounts, and deploying endpoint protection that monitors for unusual child process activity from Bridge.
