Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Jul 22, 2026
Scope-changing information disclosure and data tampering in Oracle WebCenter Content (Content Server component) versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 lets an unauthenticated network attacker who lures a victim into a single interaction read or alter all data the product can access. Rated CVSS 3.1 9.3 (C:H/I:H, scope change), the flaw is dangerous because compromise can spill into other integrated Oracle Fusion Middleware products, though availability is unaffected. No public exploit identified at time of analysis and it is not on CISA KEV, so exploitation is currently theoretical but the criticality warrants prompt patching.

DescriptionCVE.org
Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Content product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Content Server). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebCenter Content. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Oracle WebCenter Content, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.3 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N).
Executive ViewAI
Oracle WebCenter Content (Content Server) versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 contain a critical vulnerability (CVSS 9.3) that allows unauthenticated attackers to read and modify all accessible data following a single social-engineering interaction with an end user. Because WebCenter integrates with other Oracle Fusion Middleware products, successful exploitation creates cascading risk across dependent enterprise systems, affecting data confidentiality and integrity with no technical controls capable of preventing the attack once user interaction occurs. The absence of available patches makes this an immediate operational risk requiring emergency containment measures.
Within 24 hours: Conduct an urgent asset inventory to identify all systems running Oracle WebCenter Content 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0; implement network segmentation to restrict external access to affected Content Server instances, or air-gap the systems entirely if operationally feasible. Within 7 days: Enable comprehensive audit logging on all Content Server instances to detect suspicious data access, modification, and export activities; deploy application-level access controls to restrict data visibility to only essential roles; issue urgent security advisory to user base warning against phishing and social-engineering attempts targeting WebCenter interactions. Within 30 days: Establish direct vendor communication channel with Oracle for advance notification of patch availability; develop and test a migration plan to patched versions immediately upon vendor release; conduct lateral-movement assessment across integrated Oracle Fusion Middleware products to identify secondary exposure points.
No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Network segmentation to isolate Content Server systems from untrusted networks; disable external user-facing access interfaces where business continuity permits; enforce multi-factor authentication and role-based access controls at the application level; deploy data loss prevention tools to monitor and alert on unusual data access and exfiltration patterns; implement enhanced logging and SIEM integration to detect exploitation attempts; conduct targeted security awareness training for users with WebCenter access to reduce social-engineering vulnerability.
