AnalysisAIv1 – Jul 22, 2026

Information disclosure and partial data tampering in the Imaging component (Core) of Oracle WebCenter Content, part of Oracle Fusion Middleware, affects supported versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. A low-privileged attacker with HTTP network access can compromise the Imaging service, gaining unauthorized read access to all Imaging-accessible data and limited unauthorized update, insert, or delete capability, addressed in Oracle's July 2026 Critical Patch Update. No public exploit identified at time of analysis; the record carries an 'Authentication Bypass' tag despite the CVSS requiring low privileges (PR:L).

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

Oracle WebCenter Content's Imaging component (versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0) contains a vulnerability allowing authenticated low-privileged users to read and modify stored imaging data without authorization. Organizations relying on WebCenter Content for document management face immediate risk of unauthorized disclosure and alteration of imaging records. This vulnerability affects all business processes that depend on the Imaging system for regulated or sensitive document storage.

Recommended Action

Within 24 hours, identify and inventory all systems running Oracle WebCenter Content versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0; restrict or disable HTTP network access to the Imaging component if operationally feasible. Within 7 days, contact Oracle Support regarding patch availability for your specific configuration and establish a timeline for emergency patching once released. Within 30 days, apply the vendor-released patch upon availability and validate Imaging component functionality through security regression testing; if no patch is released within 30 days, enforce strict compensating controls including network segmentation and access monitoring.

Business Impact: High
Compensating Controls

No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Interim mitigations include: restricting HTTP access to the Imaging component via network segmentation and firewall rules, implementing IP whitelisting to limit legitimate access sources, enabling detailed audit logging and alerting for all Imaging data access and modification events, and evaluating feasibility of read-only mode for the Imaging service if business operations permit.

Emergency Immediate action required. Criteria: CRITICAL + in CISA KEV (actively exploited) without patch, OR CRITICAL + EPSS > 30% without patch, OR CRITICAL + active threat signals without patch.
Act Now Prioritize within 24-48h. Criteria: in KEV with patch available, OR CRITICAL + public POC, OR HIGH + EPSS > 10%, OR CRITICAL + active threat, OR any CRITICAL severity.
This Week Schedule remediation this week. Criteria: HIGH severity (CVSS 7.0-8.9). Patch within normal change window.
This Month Plan within 30 days. Criteria: MEDIUM severity (CVSS 4.0-6.9), lower exploitation probability. Include in regular patch cycle.
Monitor Track and reassess. Criteria: LOW severity (CVSS 0.1-3.9), minimal exploitation risk. No immediate action needed.
