PraisonAI before 1.5.128 caches tool approval decisions by tool name only, not by invocation arguments, allowing subsequent execute_command calls to bypass approval prompts. Attackers can exploit this by obtaining initial approval for a benign command, then silently exfiltrate API keys and credentials via subsequent shell commands without user consent.
AnalysisAI
Tool approval cache bypass in PraisonAI Agents (praisonaiagents < 4.5.128) allows an LLM agent to execute arbitrary subsequent shell commands without user consent after a single initial approval. The approval system caches decisions keyed only on tool name - once a user approves execute_command for any command (e.g., ls -la), all further execute_command invocations in that agent session bypass the approval prompt entirely. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The following concrete conditions must all be satisfied: (1) The praisonaiagents pip package version is below 4.5.128. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 6.8 (AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:H) accurately reflects a locally-triggered, high-confidentiality-impact vulnerability requiring passive user interaction. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An attacker crafts a prompt-injection payload embedded in data the LLM agent processes (e.g., a malicious web page, document, or tool response). The agent first legitimately proposes running `ls -la` to list files; the user approves via the Rich console panel. … |
| Remediation | Upgrade the praisonaiagents pip package to version 4.5.128 or later, where the approval cache is expected to key on both tool name and invocation arguments. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
