MITRE ATT&CK
1 technique across 1 tactic: Privilege Escalation The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up. |
| Exploitation Conditions | Requires a valid, authenticated reseller account on the target Froxlor instance that lacks the change_serversettings privilege (PR:L); there is no path for a fully unauthenticated attacker. Exploitation is triggered by invoking the Admins.get API command with the caller's own loginname paired with another admin's numeric id, exploiting an OR-based identity check where a mismatched id still drove the backing query. Limiting factors: the attacker must already hold reseller credentials, the result is read-only disclosure of admin metadata (no modification possible), and only versions 0.10.0 through 2.3.14 are affected (fixed in 2.3.15). No special non-default configuration or user interaction is needed beyond possessing a reseller account. |
| Impact | Signals are consistent and point to a moderate, not urgent, priority. The vendor CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N) scores 5.3 (medium): network-reachable API, low complexity, but requires an authenticated low-privileged reseller account (PR:L) and yields only limited confidentiality impact with no integrity or availability effect. There is no EPSS score in the input and the CVE is not on CISA KEV, so there is no public evidence of active exploitation; exploitation status is best described as no public exploit identified at time of analysis, although the vendor fix commit and GHSA advisory fully disclose the bypass logic, lowering the bar to reproduce it. CWE-863 (Incorrect Authorization) and the description agree the flaw is an authorization bypass yielding read-only disclosure of another admin's metadata (contact email, IP allow-lists, resource limits, notes, login history) - this is an information-disclosure/recon issue, not remote code execution or account takeover. Net: a real but bounded issue requiring insider-level reseller access; patch promptly where untrusted resellers exist, but it is a medium-CVSS, low-real-risk item rather than an internet-wide emergency. EPSS/KEV data are absent (not conflicting) - absence of exploitation signals is expected for a freshly disclosed, access-gated information leak. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | A malicious or compromised reseller on a shared Froxlor hosting server calls the Admins.get API, supplying their own loginname together with a different admin's numeric id. The identifier-confusion bypass returns the targeted admin's full record, letting the attacker harvest contact emails, IP allow-lists, resource limits, and login history for reconnaissance against higher-privileged accounts. No public weaponized exploit is available, but the patch commit publicly reveals the exact bypass condition; network vector with low complexity means the request itself is trivial to craft. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 20, 2026
An authorization bypass in the Froxlor hosting control panel (versions 0.10.0 through 2.3.14) lets an authenticated reseller read any administrator's full account record through the Admins.get API command by pairing their own loginname with another admin's numeric id. The flaw is an OR-based identity check in lib/Froxlor/Api/Commands/Admins.php: a mismatched id/loginname pair still passed the privilege gate, while the subsequent database query was driven by the numeric id alone, exposing contact email addresses, IP allow-lists, resource limits, internal notes, and login history for arbitrary admins. Impact is read-only information disclosure of administrator metadata from a low-privileged account (no modification is possible), no public exploit code was identified at time of analysis, and the issue is fixed in Froxlor 2.3.15.
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: upgrade to Froxlor 2.3.15 or later (release tag https://github.com/froxlor/froxlor/releases/tag/2.3.15), which contains commit 981400f36a0c3b5a7012e15a17dfc5fe7146fa0a hardening Admins.get() so that any supplied id or loginname not matching the caller's own identity returns HTTP 403. Validate the fix by confirming lib/Froxlor/Api/Commands/Admins.php contains the added change_serversettings guard before line ~445, and re-test by calling the Admins.get API as a reseller with your own loginname plus another admin's id, which should now be rejected. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, compensating controls include temporarily removing reseller accounts or withholding the reseller role from untrusted users (trade-off: loss of delegated hosting management), auditing existing reseller accounts for unexpected access and rotating admin credentials and reviewing login history for the affected admin ids (trade-off: operational effort and possible session disruption), and restricting API access for reseller accounts at the web server or reverse proxy layer to trusted source addresses (trade-off: breaks legitimate remote reseller workflows). Because only administrator metadata disclosure is possible, no data-integrity rollback is required, but exposed IP allow-lists and contact addresses should be treated as leaked.

Technical ContextAI · show details
Froxlor is a PHP-based web hosting control panel that separates administration between full admins and resellers; privileges are gated by flags such as change_serversettings, and API commands are dispatched through classes under lib/Froxlor/Api/Commands/. CVE-2026-113676 is a CWE-863 incorrect authorization flaw in the Admins.get() handler. Before the fix, the guard that was meant to confine resellers (admins without the change_serversettings privilege) to their own record used a boolean OR over the supplied identifier values: because either the caller's own loginname or a matching check could satisfy the condition, supplying the caller's legitimate loginname together with a different admin's numeric id passed the gate, yet the follow-up query selecting the admin row was built from the id parameter alone. The upstream commit 981400f36a0c3b5a7012e15a17dfc5fe7146fa0a rewrites this as an AND-style rejection: any supplied identifier that does not match the caller's own adminid or loginname now throws a 403 'Not allowed to execute given command' exception. The weakness is confined to the API command layer and requires an existing authenticated reseller session; it does not grant privilege escalation, write access, or remote code execution, only disclosure of administrator account metadata.

DescriptionCVE.org
Froxlor from 0.10.0 before 2.3.15 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in the Admins.get API command that allows resellers to read any admin record via identifier confusion. Attackers can send their own loginname with another admin's numeric id to retrieve contact email, IP allow-lists, resource limits, notes, and login history.
