Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm: bridge: anx7625: Fix NULL pointer dereference with early IRQ If the interrupt occurs before resource initialization is complete, the interrupt handler/worker may access uninitialized data such as the I2C tcpc_client device, potentially leading to NULL pointer dereference.

Analysis

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm: bridge: anx7625: Fix NULL pointer dereference with early IRQ

If the interrupt occurs before resource initialization is complete, the interrupt handler/worker may access uninitialized data such as the I2C tcpc_client device, potentially leading to NULL pointer dereference.

Technical Context

A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application attempts to use a pointer that has not been initialized or has been set to NULL.

Affected Products

Affected products: Linux Linux Kernel

Remediation

A vendor patch is available — apply it immediately. Add NULL checks before pointer dereference operations. Use static analysis to identify potential NULL pointer issues. Enable compiler warnings.
