knowns before 0.30.0 fails to validate import names in the import routes, allowing unauthenticated attackers to write files outside the imports directory. Attackers can supply traversal sequences in the name parameter to escape the imports directory and overwrite arbitrary files writable by the server process.
AnalysisAI
Path traversal in knowns before v0.30.0 permits unauthenticated remote attackers to write files outside the designated imports directory by embedding directory traversal sequences in the import name parameter of the import routes API. Any file writable by the server process can be overwritten, making this a potential remote code execution primitive if configuration files, scripts, or other executable content reside within the process's write reach. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | No special conditions are required beyond network access to the knowns server's import routes endpoint - the CVSS vector is AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N, meaning this is unauthenticated remote exploitation against any reachable knowns instance running a version before 0.30.0. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N) assigns the highest possible accessibility - fully unauthenticated, network-reachable, no complexity or special conditions - which aligns with the description of an unvalidated HTTP parameter. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade to knowns v0.30.0 or later, which incorporates the patch from commit d3989829fb5095666d23d005b2f78a082832a396 and resolves the import-name validation gap. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
