Network-reachable but PR:L (valid low-priv account) and AC:H reflect the token-reuse race needing a coincident privileged login; full takeover of the privileged user gives C/I/A:H with no scope change.

4DescriptionCVE.org
When password or public key authentication is used with the Windows port of wolfSSHd, the Windows logon token acquired for one authenticated connection is not released before a token is acquired for a subsequent connection, resulting in user login poisoning between connections. A less privileged user with a valid account on the server can exploit this to force a login as a more privileged user. The vulnerability was introduced with the initial Windows port of wolfSSHd in wolfSSH version 1.4.15 and affects all versions through 1.5.0. Non-Windows builds of wolfSSHd are not affected.

AnalysisAI
Windows logon token reuse in wolfSSHd versions 1.4.15 through 1.5.0 allows an authenticated low-privilege user to impersonate a higher-privileged user by exploiting a failure to release the Windows logon token between authenticated connections. Only the Windows port is affected; non-Windows builds are explicitly unaffected. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires the Windows port of wolfSSHd (wolfSSH 1.4.15 through 1.5.0) using password or public-key authentication; non-Windows builds are explicitly unaffected. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The provided CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H) yields 7.7 (High) and is internally consistent with the description: a network-reachable flaw requiring only a low-privilege valid account (PR:L), but gated by AT:P - an attack requirement signalling success depends on conditions outside the attacker's control, here the timing between a victim's authenticated connection and the attacker's subsequent connection (a logon-token reuse race). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Apply the upstream fix commits b6bd975ccfac6aadf29b98e35e09114bef3840a9 and 9777bc5ce810d6c418a1473e9e8c40cdb0026e5a, or deploy a patched wolfSSHd build from wolfSSL when released (upstream fix available (PR/commit); released patched version not independently confirmed). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory all Windows systems running wolfSSHd versions 1.4.15 through 1.5.0 and restrict privileged user sessions to reduce race condition exposure; review vendor advisory for immediate mitigations. …
