DescriptionCVE.org

@hulumi/policies versions before 1.3.2 contain an evidence validation bypass vulnerability in Cloudflare and deployment-governance validators that allows attackers to suppress violations by submitting unrelated compliant evidence. Attackers can use evidence from different zones, hostnames, origins, or repositories to bypass security guardrails for unrelated resources in the same stack.

AnalysisAI

Evidence-validation bypass in @hulumi/policies (npm) before 1.3.2 lets actors in a deployment pipeline suppress Cloudflare and deployment-governance policy violations by supplying unrelated but compliant-looking evidence. Because validators accepted stack-wide evidence shortcuts rather than correlating proof to the specific protected resource, evidence from one zone, hostname, origin, or repository could silence guardrails for a completely different resource in the same stack. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires that the target organization uses @hulumi/policies (< 1.3.2) to enforce the affected Cloudflare or deployment-governance validators, and that the attacker can submit evidence into the same stack's governance process. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The input CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H, score 9.3) rates this critical with full CIA impact and no privileges. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Vendor-released patch: 1.3.2 - upgrade @hulumi/policies to 1.3.2 or later, where validators correlate evidence to the specific protected resource and include regression coverage for unrelated-evidence bypasses (see GHSA-59f3-7227-wmh4). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
