DescriptionCVE.org

The Botslab G980H dash camera firmware contains a path traversal vulnerability in its HTTP server. An attacker with access to the device's WiFi network could submit a crafted request to access files within the device's removable storage that were not intended to be directly accessible through the web server. Exposed files could include recordings, images, diagnostic logs, or firmware files.

AnalysisAI

Path traversal in the HTTP server built into the Botslab G980H dash camera lets anyone already connected to the camera's own WiFi network retrieve files from its removable storage without authentication or user interaction. Readable content includes recordings, images, diagnostic logs and firmware files, which are exactly the artifacts a web server should never expose. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Requires the attacker to be connected to the dash camera's own WiFi network (AV:A adjacent), after which no authentication (PR:N) and no user interaction (UI:N) are needed to send crafted path-traversal HTTP requests to the built-in web server. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N) scores 7.1 (High), driven entirely by confidentiality impact from an adjacent, unauthenticated, low-complexity attack; there is no integrity or availability impact (VI:N/VA:N) because this is a read-only file-disclosure flaw. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation No vendor-released patch was identified at time of analysis, so remediation must be compensatory. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, inventory all Botslab G980H dash cameras, identify any with Wi-Fi or embedded HTTP file access enabled, and restrict exposure by disabling Wi-Fi when not required or isolating the camera on a dedicated VLAN reachable only by trusted users. …
