AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
AC:H reflects the 32-bit-only deployment constraint, a pre-existing condition beyond the attacker's control; all other metrics match the vendor-supplied vector.

3DescriptionCVE.org
An integer overflow was found in Corosync's handling of membership commit token messages. The length-validation check for these messages can be bypassed on 32-bit systems due to an integer overflow in the calculation of the expected message length, allowing a crafted network packet to trigger an out-of-bounds memory access that crashes the Corosync daemon. This results in a denial of service for the affected cluster node. The overflow does not occur on 64-bit systems, where the length calculation is correctly performed in 64-bit arithmetic.
AnalysisAI
Integer overflow in Corosync's membership commit token processing crashes the daemon on 32-bit cluster nodes, enabling a denial-of-service attack from any adjacent network host. The CWE-190 flaw causes the length validation to be bypassed on 32-bit systems where arithmetic wraps before the bounds check is applied, resulting in an out-of-bounds memory access that kills the Corosync process. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The target system must be running a 32-bit operating system - the integer overflow in the Corosync message length calculation occurs only under the ILP32 ABI where 32-bit arithmetic wraps before the bounds check; 64-bit systems are explicitly immune. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | Real-world risk is moderate and substantially narrowed by the 32-bit-only constraint. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Apply the Corosync RPM errata from Red Hat for the relevant RHEL major version (7, 8, 9, or 10) or OpenShift Container Platform 4 via standard yum/dnf update channels once Red Hat publishes the security advisory - consult https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-81666 for errata status and exact patched package versions, which are not yet confirmed in the available data. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
