DescriptionCVE.org

In Cisco Talos Intelligence for Enterprise Security Cloud versions below 1.0.3, a user that holds a role with the get_talos_enrichment capability could send a crafted request to the Talos intelligence enrichment Representational State Transfer (REST) API endpoint and cause the instance to make an outbound request to an attacker-controlled server. The request could expose tokens that compromise all relevant data and system integrity in the Splunk instance. The vulnerability is possible because the Talos intelligence enrichment REST endpoint accepts the destination for authenticated Splunk management requests from request data. For more information see Deploy Cisco Talos Intelligence for Splunk Enterprise Security (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise-security-8/user-guide/8.0/introduction/deploy-cisco-talos-intelligence-for-splunk-enterprise-security-cloud-only) in the Splunk documentation.

AnalysisAI

Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in Cisco Talos Intelligence for Enterprise Security Cloud (versions below 1.0.3) allows an authenticated Splunk user holding the get_talos_enrichment capability to redirect the instance's outbound authenticated management requests to an attacker-controlled server, exposing Splunk management tokens. Successful exploitation grants the attacker full control over the Splunk instance, compromising the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all data and configurations within it. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires an authenticated Splunk account whose role has been explicitly granted the get_talos_enrichment capability - this is a non-default, purpose-specific permission, not assigned to standard Splunk user or power-user roles. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) scores 8.8 and is broadly consistent with the described vulnerability: the attack is network-reachable, low-complexity, and requires only a low-privilege authenticated account with the get_talos_enrichment capability. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An attacker who holds - or has compromised - a Splunk account assigned a role with the get_talos_enrichment capability crafts a REST API request to the Talos intelligence enrichment endpoint, substituting the legitimate Talos destination with an attacker-controlled server. The Splunk instance issues an authenticated outbound management request to that server, delivering Splunk management tokens in the request. …
Remediation Upgrade Cisco Talos Intelligence for Enterprise Security Cloud to version 1.0.3 or later, as detailed in the Splunk vendor advisory SVD-2026-0808 at https://advisory.splunk.com/advisories/SVD-2026-0808. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
