Network-reachable unauthenticated endpoint with no special conditions; only document outline metadata disclosed so confidentiality impact is Low, with no integrity or availability consequence.

SiYuan versions before v3.7.4 contain an information disclosure vulnerability in the /api/storage/getOutlineStorage endpoint that performs no authorization checks. Attackers can retrieve outline state including heading identifiers for any document by supplying its identifier, even for documents forbidden to the requester.
AnalysisAI
Unauthorized document outline disclosure in SiYuan before v3.7.4 exposes heading identifiers for any document to unauthenticated network callers via the /api/storage/getOutlineStorage endpoint, which performs no authorization verification whatsoever. Affected are all SiYuan deployments (cpe:2.3:a:siyuan-note:siyuan:*) configured to listen on externally reachable interfaces running any version prior to v3.7.4. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The SiYuan API must be network-reachable from the attacker - by default SiYuan binds to localhost only, so externally-exposed instances (configured to listen on 0.0.0.0 or a public interface, common in self-hosted or multi-user deployments) are the realistic target population. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L) places this at 6.9, reflecting low-complexity, unauthenticated, network-accessible exploitation with bounded confidentiality impact - only document outline/heading structure is disclosed, not full document body content. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An attacker with network access to an externally-exposed SiYuan instance sends an unauthenticated HTTP request to `/api/storage/getOutlineStorage` supplying a known or enumerated document identifier. The server returns the full document outline - including heading identifiers - without verifying whether the requester has any permission to view that document. … |
| Remediation | Upgrade SiYuan to v3.7.4 or later; this is the vendor-released patch that introduces authorization checks on the `/api/storage/getOutlineStorage` endpoint, as confirmed by the GitHub security advisory GHSA-53fp-9jmv-227g (https://github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/security/advisories/GHSA-53fp-9jmv-227g). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
