Requires an authenticated low-privileged tenant with shell access already on the host, so AV:L/PR:L; injection reliably yields root across the tenant boundary, so S:C and C/I/A:H.

DescriptionCVE.org

A critical local privilege escalation via OS command injection vulnerability has been discovered in Plesk for Linux, affecting all versions from 18.0.34 before 18.0.79.9 and 18.0.80.5. The vulnerability allows a customer or reseller with shell access (or allowed to change their own shell access) to elevate privileges to the root account on the hosting server.

AnalysisAI

Privilege escalation to root in Plesk for Linux (18.0.34 up to 18.0.79.9 / 18.0.80.5) lets a customer- or reseller-level account with shell access run OS command injection (CWE-78) to take over the entire hosting server. Any tenant permitted to use - or to toggle on - their own shell access can break out of their restricted account and reach the root identity, collapsing the isolation between shared-hosting customers and the host. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attacker must hold an authenticated Plesk customer or reseller account (PR:L) that either already has shell access enabled or has the subscription/plan permission allowing them to change their own shell access - that shell-access feature is the exact precondition (matching the AT:P attack requirement). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment This is a genuine priority rather than an inflated CVSS number: it yields full root on a multi-tenant hosting server and destroys the customer/host trust boundary that shared hosting depends on, with high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability across the system and subsequent (SC/SI/SA:H) systems. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Apply the vendor-released patch: upgrade Plesk for Linux to 18.0.79.9 or 18.0.80.5 (or later) per the Plesk advisory at https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/42968165026967-CVE-2026-67394-Vulnerability-in-Plesk-allows-privilege-escalation-to-root, and confirm the automatic-update channel actually installed the fixed micro-update. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, identify all Plesk for Linux installations running versions 18.0.34 through 18.0.80.5 and audit shell access permissions for customer and reseller accounts to establish exposure scope. …
