DescriptionCVE.org

Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Content product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Content Server). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with access to the physical communication segment attached to the hardware where the Oracle WebCenter Content executes to compromise Oracle WebCenter Content. While the vulnerability is in Oracle WebCenter Content, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 8.0 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N).

AnalysisAI

Authentication bypass in Oracle WebCenter Content's Content Server component allows unauthenticated attackers with adjacent network access to fully compromise data confidentiality and integrity across versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. The scope change designation confirms that successful exploitation can cascade beyond WebCenter Content itself to additional Oracle Fusion Middleware products. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires the attacker to be positioned on the same physical communication segment or logical broadcast domain (e.g., VLAN, subnet) as the host running Oracle WebCenter Content - this is an adjacent network (AV:A) vulnerability and is not exploitable directly from the internet. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The vendor CVSS 3.1 score of 8.0 is largely driven by the scope change and high C/I impacts, but the adjacent network vector (AV:A) and high complexity (AC:H) are meaningful risk reducers that the raw score understates. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Apply Oracle's August 2026 Critical Security Patch Update (CPU), referenced at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cspuaug2026.html, which addresses this vulnerability across the affected versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 of Oracle WebCenter Content. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, identify and inventory all Oracle WebCenter Content instances running versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0, and immediately implement firewall rules or network segmentation to restrict any adjacent network access to these systems; simultaneously document what business-critical and sensitive data is stored in each affected instance. …
