stomper 5e2741e is vulnerable to Denial of Service. A malicious client can send partial STOMP frames and keep the TCP connections open, which, combined with the broker s use of edge-triggered epoll (EPOLLET) and MSG_PEEK in recv(), causes sockets to enter a permanent half-read state. When enough such connections accumulate, the broker stops receiving any further epoll events for those sockets and eventually hangs in epoll_wait, effectively refusing to process new messages.
AnalysisAI
Permanent resource exhaustion in the stomper STOMP broker (commit 5e2741e) allows any unauthenticated remote client to hang the broker's event loop by sending partial STOMP frames without completing them. The flaw exploits the interaction between edge-triggered epoll (EPOLLET) and a MSG_PEEK-based recv() pattern: because EPOLLET only fires on state transitions, a socket that holds partial data but never completes a frame stops generating new epoll events, trapping it in a permanent half-read state. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | No authentication is required; any TCP client that can reach the broker's listening port can trigger the condition. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 3.1 score of 7.5 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H) is consistent with the described mechanism: any unauthenticated network client can trigger the condition with no special configuration. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch has been identified at time of analysis. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
