Exploitation Conditions

No special conditions on the request itself - remote unauthenticated access to the /api/config endpoint of Docker-Proxy's hubcmdui web management component is sufficient against default configurations through 5.1.9, since the route had no authentication middleware. The practical prerequisite is that the hubcmdui management interface is network-reachable by the attacker (e.g., exposed to the internet or an untrusted network) rather than bound to localhost or placed behind a reverse-proxy auth layer. The value of the disclosed secrets is further gated by configuration: the WeChat webhook URL and Telegram bot token are only exposed if the monitoring/notification features have actually been configured; if no notification integrations are set, there are no such credentials to steal, though the config-overwrite (menuItems links, proxyDomain, webhook destination) remains exploitable regardless.

Impact

Signals point to a genuine but moderate-priority issue rather than a drop-everything emergency. The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N) describes the easiest possible reachability - remote, unauthenticated, low complexity, no user interaction - which raises exploitability, but the vulnerable-system impact is deliberately scored low (VC:L/VI:L/VA:N) because what is exposed is configuration data and notification credentials rather than full system compromise, yielding a 6.9 (Medium) score. The vuln.today decision label is 'this_month', not 'act_now' or 'emergency', which is consistent with that moderate impact. No CISA KEV listing and no EPSS probability were supplied in the input, so there is no signal of active or imminent mass exploitation; absence of these is not itself evidence of safety, but nothing here indicates widespread exploitation. The references include the vendor repo, the fixing commit, issue #109, and a VulnCheck advisory, but none is presented as confirmed working exploit code. Net: a real, easily-triggered flaw worth patching on a normal cycle, elevated mainly by the trivial unauthenticated reachability and the leak of messaging credentials, but tempered by low technical impact and a niche deployment footprint. Missing EPSS means likelihood of exploitation cannot be quantified from the provided data.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker who can reach an internet-exposed Docker-Proxy hubcmdui management interface sends an unauthenticated GET to /api/config and harvests the stored WeChat webhook URL and Telegram bot token, then sends an unauthenticated POST to /api/config to overwrite menuItems links, proxyDomain, and the monitoring webhook destination. This lets the attacker redirect the landing page's links to attacker-controlled sites and silently divert or suppress monitoring alerts. No public working exploit code is identified in the input, though a fixing commit and issue #109 publicly describe the flaw.

AnalysisAIv1 – Oct 25, 2026

Unauthenticated configuration read and write in the hubcmdui web management interface of Docker-Proxy through 5.1.9 lets remote attackers call /api/config to retrieve stored WeChat webhook URLs and Telegram bot tokens and to overwrite menu item links, proxyDomain, and the monitoring webhook that receives alerts. The route lacked any authentication middleware in default deployments (CVSS 4.0 base 6.9, PR:N), so the only real prerequisite is that the hubcmdui interface is network-reachable; the credential theft is further gated by whether notification integrations were actually configured, while the config-overwrite works regardless. The vendor has published a fix (commit a173befc, stated as available), no public exploit code was identified at time of analysis, and the vuln.today priority label is 'this_month', consistent with a genuine but moderate-priority issue rather than a drop-everything emergency. Rotate any WeChat/Telegram credentials that were stored in the exposed configuration.

RemediationAI

Update Docker-Proxy to a build that contains commit a173befc5d163b1206b40298871153026fee9474 (https://github.com/dqzboy/Docker-Proxy/commit/a173befc5d163b1206b40298871153026fee9474), which adds requireLogin to POST /api/config and the legacy POST /, restricts anonymous GET /api/config responses to the public key set (theme, language, logo, proxyDomain), and removes /api/monitoring-config and /api/toggle-monitoring from the anonymous whitelist; the vendor states a patch is available, but no exact fixed release number is given in the available data, so confirm the commit or its tests are present in the image you run and track https://github.com/dqzboy/Docker-Proxy for the tagged release. Assume the WeChat webhook URL and Telegram bot token stored in monitoringConfig were disclosed and rotate/regenerate both, and re-check menuItems links, proxyDomain and the alerting webhook destination for unauthorized changes. If you cannot patch immediately, restrict reachability of hubcmdui to trusted networks or put an authenticating reverse proxy in front of it, accepting that this also blocks legitimate anonymous access; note that the upstream fix deliberately keeps a public read-only subset for the landing page, so a blanket block of /api/config will break that page's logo and proxyDomain rendering.

Technical ContextAI · show details

Docker-Proxy is a container-registry proxy/acceleration project whose hubcmdui component is a Node.js/Express management UI. The flaw is CWE-306 (Missing Authentication for Critical Function): in hubcmdui/routes/config.js the GET and POST handlers for /api/config (and the legacy POST /) were mounted without the requireLogin middleware, and the auth middleware carried a URL whitelist that also exempted /api/monitoring-config (which returns webhookUrl/telegramToken) and /api/toggle-monitoring (which enables or disables alerting) from session checks. Because the anonymous path returned the fully merged default-plus-database configuration, secrets stored in monitoringConfig were serialized to any caller. The upstream fix introduces a PUBLIC_CONFIG_KEYS whitelist (theme, language, logo, proxyDomain) so anonymous callers receive only the fields a public landing page needs, gates the write paths behind requireLogin, and removes the two monitoring endpoints from the anonymous whitelist; regression tests were added asserting 401 for anonymous access to those endpoints and confirming that read-only endpoints such as /api/docker/status and /api/system-resources still pass. The trigger is a plain unauthenticated HTTP request to the exposed route; no race, memory-safety, or user-interaction element is involved, matching the CVSS 4.0 vector's AT:N and UI:N.

DescriptionCVE.org

Docker-Proxy through 5.1.9 contains a missing authentication vulnerability in the hubcmdui routes/config.js that allows unauthenticated attackers to read and overwrite configuration via /api/config. Attackers can retrieve the WeChat webhook URL and Telegram bot token, and overwrite menuItems links, proxyDomain, and the monitoring webhook destination receiving alerts.
