| Exploitation Conditions | Requires a running x64dbg instance with the x64dbg-MCP Server plugin (prior to v1.1) that is network-reachable on its default port - 9094 for x64 or 9095 for x32 - because the server binds 0.0.0.0 by default and, before the fix, Bearer token authentication was optional and disabled by default. No credentials, user interaction, or special configuration are needed beyond the default deployment; the only practical limits are that the x64dbg GUI debugger must be actively running and the listening port must not be blocked by a host or network firewall. Because this is a reverse-engineering tool rather than always-on infrastructure, realistic exposure depends on whether an operator left an instance bound to a routable interface. |
| Impact | All available signals align toward high real-world risk for exposed instances. The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N) describes a network-reachable, low-complexity, unauthenticated flaw with high confidentiality, integrity and availability impact (VC:H/VI:H/VA:H), scoring 9.3 - and the description corroborates this: the server binds 0.0.0.0 by default with no authentication, so any client reaching the port gets full debugger control, memory read/write, and arbitrary file write. The key tempering signal is EXPOSURE rather than any CVSS weakness: the tool is a developer/reverse-engineering plugin, so the attack surface depends entirely on whether a running x64dbg+MCP instance is reachable from an untrusted network. No EPSS score, CISA KEV listing, or public POC is present in the input, so there is no evidence of active or at-scale exploitation; the public fix commit documents the vulnerable behavior but is a patch, not an exploit. Net: a genuine critical-severity issue where real-world risk is gated primarily by low deployment footprint and network reachability, not by any mitigating factor in the vulnerability itself. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | An attacker able to reach the host on TCP 9094 (x64) or 9095 (x32) - the default 0.0.0.0 binding - sends unauthenticated MCP/HTTP requests and invokes debugger tools to attach to a process by PID, read and write its memory, run arbitrary x64dbg commands, and write files to arbitrary paths, resulting in full host compromise. Exploitation is trivial given AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N, requiring only network access to a running instance. No public exploit is identified at time of analysis, though the patch commit publicly reveals the missing-auth behavior. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Oct 09, 2026
Unauthenticated remote access to x64dbg-MCP Server prior to version 1.1 lets any network client that can reach the plugin's HTTP/SSE listener execute arbitrary x64dbg commands, attach to processes by PID, read and write debuggee memory, and write files to arbitrary paths. The listener binds to 0.0.0.0 by default and, before the fix, Bearer token authentication was optional and disabled by default, so a default installation with a running x64dbg GUI is fully controllable without credentials (CWE-306), matching the assessed vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H. No public exploit code was identified at time of analysis and the issue is not in CISA KEV; no EPSS score was supplied, so exploitation likelihood rests on exposure of ports 9094 (x64) or 9095 (x32).
RemediationAI
Vendor-released patch: 1.1, which makes Bearer token authentication mandatory and auto-generates a token on first run; upgrade by installing the v1.1 release at https://github.com/duty1g/x64dbg-mcp-server/releases/tag/v1.1, with the underlying changes visible in commits https://github.com/duty1g/x64dbg-mcp-server/commit/1aad0f88b9c27233d11dbccf08ca415eb5f49203 and https://github.com/duty1g/x64dbg-mcp-server/commit/e1daba0038959f88d25ff3376b2a7f922ffeb448 and the advisories GHSA-4478-h5jv-647m and GHSA-jgj3-97w2-9v9r. If upgrading is not immediately possible, the most effective compensating control is to rebind the server to 127.0.0.1 in the config dialog (Plugins > x64dbg-MCP Server > Configure MCP Server...), at the cost of losing remote MCP clients; alternatively, block inbound TCP 9094 and 9095 at the host firewall or network perimeter, which preserves local-only use and carries no functional side effects, or unload the plugin when the debugger is not actively needed, which removes the attack surface but disables the MCP integration entirely. Any pre-1.1 deployment reachable on a routable interface should be treated as untrusted, since the unauthenticated feature set includes arbitrary command execution and file writes on the debugger host.

Technical ContextAI · show details
x64dbg-MCP Server is a native Model Context Protocol plugin written in Zig for the x64dbg debugger, exposing the debugger's tool surface over HTTP plus Server-Sent Events on ports 9094 (x64) and 9095 (x32). The root cause is CWE-306, Missing Authentication for Critical Function: in the pre-1.1 source (src/core/mcp_server.zig, handleClient), the Authorization header was only validated inside an 'if (auth_token_len > 0)' branch, meaning an empty configured token silently skipped the check entirely and permitted every request. The vendor's own project documentation confirmed this posture, describing Bearer auth as 'Optional token authentication' and warning that anyone on the network could reach the server and that leaving the token empty disables auth. Because the MCP tool surface is the debugger itself, an unauthenticated caller inherits full debugger primitives: command execution, PID attach, debuggee memory read/write, and arbitrary file writes. The CPE cpe:2.3:a:duty1g:x64dbg-mcp-server:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* captures all pre-fix builds, and the upstream fix inverts the logic so token validation is unconditional, with a token auto-generated on first run.

x64dbg-MCP Server is a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) plugin for x64dbg that exposes the debugger's full functionality over HTTP. Prior to 1.1, x64dbg-MCP Server exposes all MCP debugger tools over HTTP and SSE without authentication while listening on 0.0.0.0 by default. Any unauthenticated network client that can reach the default port, 9094 for x64 or 9095 for x32, can execute arbitrary x64dbg commands, attach to processes by PID, read and write debuggee memory, and write files to arbitrary paths. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.

Executive ViewAI
Organizations using the x64dbg-MCP Server debugging plugin prior to version 1.1 face a critical exposure: any network client that can reach the plugin's listener can take control of an active debugging session without authentication, including reading or altering process memory and writing files on the engineer's workstation. Because x64dbg is commonly used for reverse engineering, malware analysis, and software development, a compromise could expose proprietary code, credentials, and sensitive investigative data, and may provide an entry point for lateral movement. Leadership should treat exposed instances as a high-priority risk until the listener is contained or a vendor fix is available.
No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Interim mitigations: bind the x64dbg-MCP Server listener to 127.0.0.1 instead of 0.0.0.0; block TCP ports 9094 and 9095 from untrusted networks via host firewall or network ACL; enable Bearer token authentication where supported; stop or disable the MCP server plugin/listener when not actively needed; isolate x64dbg workstations on a restricted VLAN; review logs for unexpected connections to ports 9094 or 9095; rotate exposed tokens or credentials and treat debugged data as potentially compromised if unauthorized access is suspected.
