Authenticated API user (PR:L) over the network; AC:H reflects the deployment-specific precondition (action-scoped decorators relying on fallback handlers); cross-user read/modify/delete gives C:H/I:H, with no direct availability impact.

LangGraph Python SDK is used to connect to running LangGraph API servers, manage assistants, threads and stream runs from Python applications. From 0.1.45 until 0.4.4, the langgraph-sdk resource-scoped authorization decorators @auth.on.threads, @auth.on.assistants, and @auth.on.crons ignore the actions argument and register the selected handler for every action on the resource. Because that wildcard resource handler is selected before broader fallback handlers, an authenticated user may bypass fallback action, ownership, or permission checks and read, update, or delete another user's resource. Only Python deployments using actions on the affected decorators are vulnerable, and a deployment remains protected when the selected handler independently enforces all required checks for every action it receives. This issue is fixed in version 0.4.4.

AnalysisAI
Incorrect authorization in the LangGraph Python SDK (langgraph-sdk) versions 0.1.45 through 0.4.3 lets an authenticated user read, update, or delete resources belonging to other users, because the resource-scoped decorators @auth.on.threads, @auth.on.assistants, and @auth.on.crons ignore their actions= argument and register the handler as a wildcard for every action on that resource. That wildcard handler is matched ahead of broader fallback handlers, so any action, ownership, or permission checks implemented in those fallbacks are silently skipped. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitable only on Python LangGraph deployments that (1) use the @auth.on.threads, @auth.on.assistants, or @auth.on.crons decorators WITH the actions= argument specified, and (2) rely on separate broader fallback handlers to enforce action, ownership, or permission checks. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine but conditionally-scoped authorization flaw (CWE-863) rather than a universally exploitable one. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patch: upgrade langgraph-sdk to 0.4.4 (release tag sdk==0.4.4), which makes the resource-scoped decorators honor actions= and reject empty, duplicate, invalid, or resource-mismatched action lists; the fix commit is https://github.com/langchain-ai/langgraph/commit/5a77be5e8bec1600ad0a865638d88c1368497559 and the advisory is https://github.com/langchain-ai/langgraph/security/advisories/GHSA-fvww-7h3r-vfhp. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, identify all deployments running langgraph-sdk versions 0.1.45 through 0.4.3 and determine whether they use the @auth.on.threads, @auth.on.assistants, or @auth.on.crons decorators with an actions= argument alongside separate fallback authorization handlers; for any such deployment that cannot be immediately upgraded, temporarily remove the actions= scoping or disable the affected decorators and enforce authorization solely in the fallback handlers, and review access logs for anomalous cross-user activity. …
