Network endpoint, low complexity; PR:L because a valid pre-existing refresh token/credential is required; limited C/I impact from retained account access, no availability impact.

DescriptionCVE.org

mall4j through 4.0 contains an insufficient session expiration vulnerability in the token refresh endpoint that fails to validate the enabled flag when issuing new sessions. Disabled user accounts can indefinitely renew their sessions through the POST /token/refresh endpoint, retaining access that account disabling was intended to remove.

AnalysisAI

Disabled mall4j accounts (through 4.0) can indefinitely renew their sessions by calling POST /token/refresh, because the refresh flow issues a new token without re-checking the account's enabled flag, letting a user that an administrator deactivated retain the access they already had. The attacker must already hold a valid, non-expired refresh token obtained before deactivation, so this is an authenticated access-control persistence flaw (CVSS 5.3, CWE-613), not an unauthenticated bypass or a route to new accounts. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires an attacker to already hold a valid, non-expired refresh token for a mall4j account (through 4.0) that has subsequently been disabled by an administrator - the flaw lets that disabled account keep renewing sessions via POST /token/refresh because TokenController/TokenStore never re-validate the account's enabled flag. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment This is a genuine but modest-severity access-control persistence flaw, not a high-urgency issue. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation No vendor-released patch was identified at time of analysis, so the primary fix must be applied in code: add an enabled-flag check to the refresh path so that TokenController/TokenStore look up the user on POST /token/refresh and reject the request when the account is disabled. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
