4DescriptionCVE.org
The authentication endpoint fails to adequately validate user-supplied input before reflecting it back in the response. This allows an attacker to inject malicious script payloads into the input parameters, which are then executed by the victim's browser.
Successful exploitation can enable an attacker to redirect the user's browser to a malicious website, modify the UI of the web page, or retrieve information from the browser. However, the impact is limited as session-related sensitive cookies are protected by the httpOnly flag, preventing session hijacking.
AnalysisAI
The authentication endpoint fails to adequately validate user-supplied input before reflecting it back in the response. Rated medium severity (CVSS 6.1), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. This Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability could allow attackers to inject malicious scripts into web pages viewed by other users.
Technical ContextAI
This vulnerability is classified as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) (CWE-79), which allows attackers to inject malicious scripts into web pages viewed by other users. The authentication endpoint fails to adequately validate user-supplied input before reflecting it back in the response. Successful exploitation can enable an attacker to redirect the user's browser to a malicious website, modify the UI of the web page, or retrieve information from the browser. RemediationAI
A vendor patch is available. Apply the latest security update as soon as possible. Sanitize all user input, use Content-Security-Policy headers, encode output contextually (HTML, JS, URL). Use frameworks with built-in XSS protection.
