1 technique across 1 tactic: Privilege Escalation

The technique list with ATT&CK links and the kill-chain view is part of the Basic plan and up.

Exploitation Conditions

Requires a valid authenticated low-privileged account on the target JeecgBoot instance (PR:L) - exploitation is not possible pre-authentication. Given such an account, the attacker simply issues a DELETE request to the SysPositionController removeUserPosition endpoint with arbitrary userIds and positionId values; no special product configuration, feature flag, or non-default deployment mode is needed, and no user interaction is required (UI:N). Limiting factors: the attacker must first obtain or register an account, so exposure is highest where self-registration is enabled or many low-trust accounts exist; impact is confined to deletion of user-to-position associations (integrity/availability of that mapping) with no confidentiality disclosure and no code execution; and deletions occur without logging, which hinders detection but does not expand the technical impact.

Impact

This is a genuine-but-moderate priority, not a critical emergency. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 5.3 (medium) with vector AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:L - network-reachable, low attack complexity, but requires a low-privileged authenticated account (PR:L) and causes only limited integrity and availability impact to the sys_user_position association data, with no confidentiality loss. The flaw is CWE-862 (missing authorization): an already-authenticated user can act beyond their intended scope. Public exploit code exists (POC=YES, VulnCheck advisory plus a GitHub PoC script), which raises operational likelihood, but there is NO CISA KEV listing and no EPSS score was provided, so there is no evidence of active or widespread exploitation. The signals are therefore consistent rather than conflicting: a real, easy-to-automate access-control bug with a working PoC, but bounded blast radius (data-detachment, no RCE, no data theft) and an authentication precondition that limits exposure to users who already have an account. No EPSS value was supplied, so exploitation probability cannot be quantified from the input. Priority should be elevated for multi-tenant or externally-registrable JeecgBoot deployments where low-privilege accounts are easy to obtain, and lower for internal-only instances.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker who holds any valid low-privileged JeecgBoot account (or self-registers one where registration is open) sends a crafted DELETE request to the removeUserPosition handler supplying arbitrary userIds and a positionId they do not own. Because the handler performs no authorization check, it deletes the targeted sys_user_position rows, silently detaching other users from their organizational positions without generating a log entry. A public PoC script and the VulnCheck advisory demonstrate the request, lowering the skill barrier to exploitation.

AnalysisAIv1 – Oct 11, 2026

Missing authorization in the JeecgBoot SysPositionController removeUserPosition handler (versions through 3.9.5) allows any authenticated low-privileged user to delete user-to-position mappings in the sys_user_position table by sending DELETE requests with arbitrary userId and positionId values. The attacker gains no confidentiality or code execution, but can silently unbind users from their positions, and the deletions are performed without logging, which hampers detection and attribution. Publicly available exploit code exists (a Python PoC referenced by VulnCheck) and the issue is tracked as CWE-862; no CISA KEV listing indicating confirmed active exploitation was provided. Independently assessed as CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L (assessed score consistent with the reported 5.3 base), this is a genuine-but-moderate priority issue requiring a valid authenticated account rather than a critical emergency.

RemediationAI

No vendor-released patch was identified in the available intelligence at time of analysis, so remediation centers on compensating controls. The most direct fix is to add the missing server-side authorization check to SysPositionController.removeUserPosition so it matches the permission annotations used elsewhere in the controller (for example an @PreAuthorize/@RequiresPermissions-style role or permission guard for position management), applied either as a locally maintained fork patch or an upstream fix once published; the trade-off is that a custom fork must be re-based on every JeecgBoot upgrade. Where code changes are not immediately possible, restrict the endpoint at a reverse proxy, gateway, or Spring Security interceptor so that DELETE requests to the removeUserPosition route are only accepted from administrative roles, accepting the operational cost of allowlisting legitimate admin traffic and of keeping the rule in sync if the route changes. Because exploitation requires an authenticated low-privileged account (PR:L), disabling or tightly gating self-registration shrinks the pool of usable accounts, at the cost of blocking self-service onboarding. Since the deletions are not logged, add detection compensating for the blind spot: database triggers or application-level audit logging on sys_user_position changes, plus alerting on bulk or off-hours unbinding, with the trade-off of added database overhead and a possible gap in attributing the acting user if only the row change is captured. Finally, monitor the CVEOrg and VulnCheck references for an official fixed release and apply it as soon as it becomes available.

Technical ContextAI · show details

JeecgBoot is a Java/Spring Boot low-code development platform whose RBAC model stores user-to-role and user-to-position relationships in join tables such as sys_user_position, with data access mediated by MyBatis-Plus mappers and HTTP exposure through Spring MVC controllers. The vulnerable code lives in the jeecg-system-biz module, class org.jeecg.modules.system.controller.SysPositionController, in the removeUserPosition method (upstream source reference pins this to commit e3b9dc0aefe1943d9772b026f64ed671a7c82802, lines 400-405). The root cause is CWE-862 (Missing Authorization): the handler relies on the framework's authentication layer (valid session/token) but omits the permission or role check that other privileged operations in the same controller enforce, so the authorization decision is never made for this specific action. Consequently, any principal holding an authenticated low-privileged account can invoke the endpoint and supply arbitrary userIds and positionId parameters, causing direct deletion of rows in sys_user_position. The CPE cpe:2.3:a:jeecgboot:jeecgboot:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* confirms all versions up to and including 3.9.5 are in scope. Because the CVSS 4.0 vector records VC:N, VI:L and VA:L, the flaw is limited to integrity and low availability impact on the position-membership mapping itself, with no disclosed data and no elevation to code execution; the lack of audit logging on the deletion path is a detection weakness rather than an expansion of technical impact.

DescriptionCVE.org

JeecgBoot through 3.9.5 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the SysPositionController removeUserPosition handler that allows any authenticated user to remove position members. Low-privileged attackers can send DELETE requests with arbitrary userIds and positionId values to delete sys_user_position rows, detaching users from positions without logging.
