Exploitation Conditions

Requires a valid authenticated StockAgile account (PR:L) able to write to the REST endpoint '/inventory/configuration/payment-methods' (payment-method configuration feature), submitting script payloads via the 'code', 'name', or other text fields which are not correctly filtered or validated. Execution additionally requires a second authenticated user to view the affected data in the management panel (UI:P victim interaction). Limiting factors: attacker must first obtain panel authentication, the injected script only fires when a victim renders the stored value, and impact is confined to the victim's browser session (no server-side code execution, no scope change).

Impact

This is a genuine but low-priority stored XSS. The authoritative signal is the vendor CVSS 4.0 vector (5.1, medium) with AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:P: exploitation is network-reachable but requires the attacker to already hold an authenticated account (PR:L) AND requires a victim user to view the injected payment-method data in the panel (UI:P, passive interaction). Impact is capped at VC:L/VI:L/VA:N with no scope/subsequent-system impact (SC:N/SI:N/SA:N), consistent with script execution in another authenticated user's browser session rather than server compromise. There is no EPSS score, no CISA KEV listing, and no public POC referenced, so the exploitation status is: no public exploit identified at time of analysis. Nothing in the data conflicts - CVSS network vector aligns with the REST-endpoint description, and the authenticated requirement (PR:L) aligns with 'previously authenticated attacker' in the text. Net: a real, patch-worthy defect but not an urgent, widely-exploited threat; it is a medium-CVSS issue whose real-world risk is further limited by the need for both authentication and victim interaction.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker with a valid low-privileged StockAgile account submits a crafted value containing JavaScript in the 'code' or 'name' field of the REST endpoint /inventory/configuration/payment-methods, which is stored unfiltered. When another authenticated user (e.g. an administrator) later views the payment-methods configuration in the management panel, the script executes in their browser session, enabling session/token theft or actions in their context. No public exploit code is identified at time of analysis, though the attack is technically simple.

AnalysisAIv1 – Sep 25, 2026

Stored cross-site scripting in the StockAgile API and management panel allows an authenticated remote attacker to persist arbitrary JavaScript into payment-method configuration records via the REST endpoint '/inventory/configuration/payment-methods', using text parameters such as 'code' and 'name' that are neither validated nor encoded before being rendered back to users. Because the injected script only fires when a second authenticated user opens the affected configuration in the web panel (CVSS UI:P / UI:R), exploitation requires both an attacker account with access to the payment-method configuration feature and a victim who views the poisoned data, and impact is confined to the victim's browser session. No public exploit code has been identified at time of analysis, and the vendor has published a fix. This is a genuine but low-priority stored XSS.

RemediationAI

Update StockAgile to the patched build referenced in the vendor/INCIBE advisory (https://www.incibe.es/en/incibe-cert/notices/aviso/stored-cross-site-scripting-stockagile-novadigits-technologies) - patch availability is confirmed per vendor advisory, but no exact fixed version number is provided in the available data, so verify the version with NovaDigits before closing the finding. Where immediate upgrade is not possible, the highest-value compensating control is server-side sanitization and strict allow-listing of the payment-method 'code' and 'name' parameters (these fields are effectively identifiers and labels, so rejecting characters outside an alphanumeric/punctuation allow-list has low functional cost), combined with context-aware HTML output encoding when the panel renders stored configuration values. Restricting write access to '/inventory/configuration/payment-methods' to the smallest set of trusted administrator roles reduces the number of accounts that can plant a payload, at the cost of narrowing administrative flexibility, and a Content-Security-Policy on the management panel that disallows inline and third-party script significantly blunts execution of any already-stored payload, though legacy inline scripts may need refactoring first. Auditing and clearing existing payment-method configuration records is also advisable, since payloads stored before the fix would survive an upgrade until the records are cleaned or re-saved.

Technical ContextAI · show details

The flaw is CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation, i.e. cross-site scripting) in a server-side REST endpoint rather than a purely client-side reflection: payloads submitted to '/inventory/configuration/payment-methods' through fields like 'code' and 'name' are stored by the StockAgile backend and later emitted into the management panel without output encoding or sanitization, so the script executes in the context of the panel's origin for any authenticated user who renders the record. CPE data pins the affected product as NovaDigits Technologies StockAgile (cpe:2.3:a:novadigits_technologies:stockagile:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*), indicating the vendor advisory covers the product line broadly rather than a single build. The reported CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P) and the independently assessed CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N) both agree the attacker must already hold panel credentials (PR:L) and that a victim must interact with or view the poisoned page (UI:P / UI:R); confidentiality and integrity impact is limited (VC:L/VI:L) with no availability impact, no server-side code execution, and impact confined to the victim's browser session.

DescriptionCVE.org

Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in StockAgile API and management panel. The vulnerability is present on the server side in REST endpoint '/inventory/configuration/payment-methods' that allow the injection and persistence of malicious JavaScript code through parameters such as ‘code’, ‘name’, and other text fields. The scripts that are entered are not filtered or validated correctly before being displayed on the web panel that authenticated users can access. Exploiting this vulnerability could allow a remote, previously authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code.
