Xibo is an open source digital signage platform with a web content management system and Windows display player software. Prior to 4.4.3, missing Authorization in Module::settingsForm allows to view (not change) super admin-restricted module settings and leak the full module entity. Exploitation of the vulnerability is possible on behalf of an authorized user who has access to the Module View feature, which are not granted to non-admins as standard. Users should upgrade to version 4.4.3 which fixes this issue. Upgrading to a fixed version is necessary to remediate. Users unable to upgrade should revoke such privileges from users they do not trust.
AnalysisAI
Missing authorization in Xibo CMS prior to 4.4.3 exposes super admin-restricted module settings and full module entity data to authenticated users holding the Module View privilege, via the Module::settingsForm endpoint. The disclosure is read-only - no configuration changes are possible - but the leak of privileged system configuration to lower-trust accounts represents a vertical privilege escalation in the confidentiality dimension. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires an active, authenticated Xibo CMS session belonging to an account that has been explicitly granted the Module View feature - a permission not assigned to non-admin users in a default deployment. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.3 Medium score (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N) is consistent with the description: network-accessible, no complexity barrier, but firmly gated on an authenticated low-privilege session. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade Xibo CMS to version 4.4.3, which resolves the missing authorization check per the vendor advisory at https://github.com/xibosignage/xibo-cms/security/advisories/GHSA-6h64-j36j-h2v2. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
