2DescriptionCVE.org
Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Portal product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Runtime Tools). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebCenter Portal. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Oracle WebCenter Portal, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle WebCenter Portal accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle WebCenter Portal accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 8.7 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N).
AnalysisAI
Oracle WebCenter Portal's Runtime Tools component exposes a high-severity, network-exploitable authentication bypass affecting versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. A low-privileged, remote-authenticated attacker who can induce a victim user to interact with a malicious HTTP request can bypass authorization controls to gain complete read access to all WebCenter Portal data and perform unauthorized creation, deletion, or modification of critical data - including scope-change impact to additional Oracle Fusion Middleware products. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires: (1) the attacker holds a valid low-privilege account with network access to the Oracle WebCenter Portal instance via HTTP - this is confirmed by the PR:L and AV:N CVSS metrics; (2) a separate human victim with higher privileges must interact with attacker-controlled content or a crafted request, as confirmed by UI:R in the CVSS vector; (3) the affected deployment must be running WebCenter Portal version 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 3.1 score of 8.7 is justified by the combination of network exploitability (AV:N), low complexity (AC:L), and High confidentiality and integrity impact under a scope change (S:C/C:H/I:H). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update (CPU) for August 2026, available via My Oracle Support and described at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cspuaug2026.html. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, identify all instances of Oracle WebCenter Portal versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 across production and non-production environments and restrict network access to the Runtime Tools component to trusted internal IP ranges only; implement network segmentation to isolate WebCenter Portal systems from untrusted network segments. …
