ERPNext is a free and open source Enterprise Resource Planning tool. Prior to 15.112.0 and 16.23.0, the ReceivablePayableReport prepare_conditions path in erpnext/accounts/report/accounts_receivable/accounts_receivable.py does not apply Customer and Supplier user permissions to the Payment Ledger Entry dynamic-link party field, allowing any authenticated user to read unauthorized cross-company financial data in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reports. This issue is fixed in versions 15.112.0 and 16.23.0.
AnalysisAI
Broken access control in ERPNext's Accounts Receivable and Payable report engine allows any authenticated user to read cross-company financial data they are not authorized to view. The ReceivablePayableReport.prepare_conditions() method fails to enforce Customer and Supplier user permissions against the Payment Ledger Entry dynamic-link party field, meaning permission boundaries set via Frappe's user permission system are silently bypassed for this report path. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid ERPNext user account with access to the Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable report (any role granting this report access). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 7.1 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N) correctly captures the risk profile: network-reachable, low-complexity exploitation requiring only a valid login, with high confidentiality impact. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An accountant restricted by ERPNext user permissions to a single subsidiary's Customer records logs into the web interface using standard credentials. Without any custom tooling, they open the Accounts Receivable report and observe financial data - outstanding balances, payment history - for customers belonging to other subsidiaries or companies that their permissions should have hidden. … |
| Remediation | Upgrade ERPNext to version 15.112.0 or later on the 15.x branch, or to version 16.23.0 or later on the 16.x branch. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
