DescriptionCVE.org

The Essential Addons for Elementor - Popular Elementor Templates & Widgets plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 6.6.4 via the ajax_load_more function due to insufficient restrictions on which posts can be included. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to extract data from password protected, private, or draft posts that they should not have access to.

AnalysisAI

Information exposure in Essential Addons for Elementor (all versions ≤ 6.6.4) allows unauthenticated remote attackers to extract content from password-protected, private, and draft WordPress posts via the plugin's ajax_load_more AJAX endpoint. The root cause (CWE-639) is that user-controlled query parameters are accepted without enforcing WordPress native post-visibility access controls, bypassing the platform's built-in confidentiality model. …

Exploitation The target WordPress site must have the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin installed and activated at version 6.6.4 or earlier, and at least one published page or post must include an Elementor widget from this plugin that uses Load More or Infinite Scroll pagination (e.g., Post Grid, Post List). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 5.3 Medium score (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N) accurately captures the attack profile: network-reachable, unauthenticated, zero-complexity exploitation with limited-scope confidentiality impact and no integrity or availability consequence. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An unauthenticated attacker sends a crafted POST request to a vulnerable site's wp-admin/admin-ajax.php endpoint, specifying the plugin's load-more action and injecting post_status or post ID parameters referencing private, draft, or password-protected posts. The server responds with post content that WordPress would normally restrict to privileged or authenticated users, requiring no credentials and no prior site interaction. …
Remediation Upgrade Essential Addons for Elementor to version 6.6.5 or later; the fix is tied to WordPress SVN changeset 3541534 applied to the plugin's trunk, which represents the upstream patch for this issue. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
